how to see the preview of the lock screen in Windows 10?
Go to Start Menu > Settings > Personalization > then click on the ‘Lock screen’ option. Then the lock screen settings will open. As you can see in the below image.
You can also open lock screen settings to another way, simply right-click on your desktop area and choose the ‘Personalization‘ option from the popup menu then choose ‘Lock screen‘ option. As you can see in the below image. Then you will be reached into lock screen settings in windows 10.
After opening the lock screen settings in Windows 10, Here you will see your windows lock screen in the preview section that how looks after the lock screen, that the preview of the lock screen will appear in the windows lock screen background.

How to set a lock screen background image in Windows 10?
Go to Start Menu > Settings > Personalization > then click on the ‘Lock screen’ option. Then the lock screen settings will open. You can also open lock screen settings to another way, simply right-click on your desktop area and choose the ‘Personalization‘ option from the popup menu then choose ‘Lock screen‘ option. Then you will be reached into lock screen settings in windows 10. As you can see in image 1 and image 2.
To set the lock screen background image you have three options:
- Windows spotlight
- Picture
- Slideshow
1. Windows Spotlight:
To set your lock screen ‘Windows Spotlight‘ simply click on the Background option and select ‘Windows Spotlight‘. In this option, the Windows spotlight takes automatically each day a new image to lock screen background from the internet ongoing basis. The windows spotlight offers suggestions on the lock screen.
2. Picture:
To set your lock screen ‘Picture‘ simply click on the Background option and select ‘Picture‘. After that, you will see the ‘Browse‘ option with the help of the mouse, click on it.
Then ‘File explorer‘ will open. Then you can choose your picture from here.
After selecting a picture from the file explorer click on the ‘Choose picture‘ option, then you will see your computer lock screen background is changed.
3. Slideshow:
To set your lock screen ‘Slideshow‘ simply click on the Background option and select ‘Slideshow‘. After that, you will see the ‘Add a folder‘ option with the help of the mouse, click on it.
Then ‘File explorer‘ will open. Then you can choose your picture’s folder from here.
After selecting a picture’s folder from the file explorer click on the ‘Choose this folder‘ option, then you will see your computer lock screen background will be changed and the slideshow will be started.
In the slideshow option, you will see one more option ‘Advanced slideshow settings(image 7)’ when you click on these settings you will see multiple options.
Include Camera Roll folders from this PC and OneDrive
If you turn this feature on, then the pictures that are in your camera folder in the screen lock slideshow will also be visible on the screen lock background.
Only use pictures that fit my screen
If you turn this feature on, Then only the picture that will fit on the screen will appear on the screen lock background.
Play a slideshow when using battery power
In this option, If you want to continue to slideshow over battery power on the laptop simply turn ON this feature, if not then keep OFF this feature.
When my PC is inactive, show lock screen instead of turning off the screen
By using this option, You can turn on slideshow instead of turning off the screen.
Turn off screen after slideshow has played for
By using this option, You can set slideshow timer for turning off-screen(like after 30minute, 40minute, 1hour, etc). If you don’t want to set a timer for slideshow or don’t off slideshow screen then choose ‘Don’t turn off‘ option.

How to show app detailed status on the lock screen in Windows 10?
Go to Start Menu > Settings > Personalization > then click on the ‘Lock screen’ option. Then the lock screen settings will open. You can also open lock screen settings to another way, simply right-click on your desktop area and choose the ‘Personalization‘ option from the popup menu then choose ‘Lock screen‘ option. Then you will be reached into lock screen settings in windows 10. As you can see in image 1 and image 2.
To set an app to show detailed status on the lock screen just click on the default icon(in my case calendar app is the default) and choose which one app want to show detailed status on the lock screen in this apps 3D Viewer, Messaging, Mail, Weather, Calendar, etc. Choose one of these apps.
In my case, I have selected the calendar app. You can see in the below image 11.

How to choose apps to quick status on lock screen in Windows 10?
Go to Start Menu > Settings > Personalization > then click on the ‘Lock screen’ option. Then the lock screen settings will open. You can also open lock screen settings to another way, simply right-click on your desktop area and choose the ‘Personalization‘ option from the popup menu then choose ‘Lock screen‘ option. Then you will be reached into lock screen settings in windows 10. As you can see in image 1 and image 2.
To set an apps quick status on the lock screen, click on the + icon in ‘Choose which apps show quick status on the lock screen‘ option, you will see some apps to select. In these apps, you can select seven apps to show quick status on the Windows 10 lock screen.
Here you can see an example of ‘Apps quick status on lock screen‘ in the below image 12.
In my case, I have selected some apps But in the below image12 showing only two app quick statuses (Messages and Skype). Because no notification came in the rest of the application.

Go to Start Menu > Settings > Personalization > then click on the ‘Lock screen’ option. Then the lock screen settings will open. You can also open lock screen settings to another way, simply right-click on your desktop area and choose the ‘Personalization‘ option from the popup menu then choose ‘Lock screen‘ option. Then you will be reached into lock screen settings in windows 10. As you can see in image 1 and image 2.
To show a lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen tick this option. After ticking this option you will see on the computer sign-in screen background in windows 10 lock screen’s picture showing.
If you turn OFF this feature, then in sign-in screen background on windows 10 lock screen’s picture will not showing.

How to enable or disable Cortana to lock screen in Windows 10?
Go to Start Menu > Settings > Personalization > then click on the ‘Lock screen’ option. Then the lock screen settings will open. You can also open lock screen settings to another way, simply right-click on your desktop area and choose the ‘Personalization‘ option from the popup menu then choose ‘Lock screen‘ option. Then you will be reached into lock screen settings in windows 10. As you can see in image 1 and image 2.
To enable Cortana or disable Cortana in Windows 10 lock screen, after opening ‘Lock screen‘ settings in the last you will ‘Cortana lock screen settings‘ option(as you see in image 14). Click on the ‘Cortana lock screen settings‘ option. then Cortana settings will open. Here you can customize Cortana settings as you want.
